Procedures
For Taking A Class
To take a class (offered at the UW, non-UW, or a CE class at a conference),
Administrative Services submits a UW Libraries Application for Training
& Development Opportunities form to the UW Libraries Organization Development
& Training (ODT) office to request funding.
- Complete the ODT Application for Funding (Word Document OR PDF)
- you must complete questions 1-4,
- for question 3, under "Amount of release time you are requesting,"
do not include travel time,
- in addition to the general information required on the application,
applicants and supervisors/managers at each level should make
a qualitative statement about the value of the training. All statements
on the application should be definite enough so that the Dean
of University Libraries can use them to assist in evaluating the
individual requests in relation to the total requests.
- Print the form (double-sided preferred).
- Sign and date the form.
- Fill out and attach the registration form for the class,
seminar, or workshop that you want to take.
- If it is an online application, you will need to fill out and
attach a printed version of the application.
- *NOTE* No printed registration form is needed for UW courses through UW Computer Training or Professional & Organizational Development.
- Attach a copy of the course description.
- Make a copy of this packet for your records.
- Give this packet to your Supervisor, who will make their recommendation and forward the packet to Admin Services (Secretary Senior), who routes it to Neil Rambo to sign/approve.
- This packet is then forwarded to ODT, who will then process the request.
- If amount of the event is $300 or more, it is then forwarded
to the UW Libraries Dean, Betsy Wilson to sign/approve.
- Once approved, Administrative Services or ODT can assist you with registration.
- Attend the class.
PLEASE ALLOW ADEQUATE TIME
TO ENROLL EARLY IN THE CLASS AND NOT WAIT UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE.
