This page is designed to allow you to download and install Network Associates Virus Scan anti-virus software on your personal computer without assistance from computing support personnel and at your own discretion. However, it is recommended that you obtain help from your local department computer expert in installing this software if you are unfamiliar with such personal computer concepts as folders, Explorer, and double-clicking.

Reboot and try again.
To download the setup file for the new virus scan software click here OR select "run" on your start menu and type "\\hsl\shares\Software\ANTI-V\VirusScan\7.0\vs7.exe".
In order to install the new 7.0 version your computer must first uninstall any old Virus Scan software versions. (Please refer to the sample pictures below.)
Once the old virus scan version has been removed click Next to begin the installation.

Be sure Typical setup is checked then click Next.

Click on Install

Be sure Update Now and Run On-Demand Scan is checked prior to clicking on Finish

Close the setup. Once you close the setup, the on-demand scan and auto-update should run automatically.

You have now successfully installed McAfee 7.0 Virus Scan!
To
complete the installation you must now configure your Virus Scan 7.0
software. You will find all the instructions needed to configure your
antivirus software below.

Open the VirusScan Console (START button -> Programs -> Network Associates ->VirusScan Console). Select "AutoUpdate" and right click and go to "properties". This will bring up the Auto Update properties window.

In the AutoUpdate Properties window click on the Schedule button.
In the Schedule Tab, change the start time to an hour before you arrive at work . (ie. if you come in at 8:00am set it to around 7:00am). Click OK when you are done.
Back in the VirusScan Console, go to Scan All Fixed Disks and right click on it and go to properties. This will bring up the properties for Scan All Fixed Disks.
Inside the VirusScan On-Demand Scan Properties window click on the Schedule button.

In the schedule settings, under the task tab check the Enable button. In the Schedule tab, again make the start time prior to when you come in for work in the morning. Also check the Enable Randomization, and then click OK when you are finished.
After you have clicked OK you should be again on the VirusScan On-Demand Scan properties. Go to the actions Tab and under "If the above action fails" change the location of the "move to folder" to C:\\Quarantine instead of E:\\Quarantine. Once you have done this click on the apply button and under "If the above action fails" use arrow on right hand side of the window to change action from "move to folder" to "prompt for action" Then click on the Delete File and Move File check boxes. When you are finished click apply and then OK.

If done properly, you should see your scheduled scans/updates as "daily, 7:00AM (or whatever time you set it to)" See picture below for details.
